HHCPC

 We are a volunteer-led board of passionate professionals united by a shared mission to advance health equity for the Hmong community. Through education, community partnerships, research, advocacy, and cultural consultation, we work to promote culturally informed care and improve the health and well-being of Hmong families.

Dr. Yang is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She also holds a Healthcare MBA from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. Dr. Yang practices primary care at HealthPa

Dr. Yang is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She also holds a Healthcare MBA from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. Dr. Yang practices primary care at HealthPartners, where she co-chairs the Health Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Cabinet. She leads unconscious bias education for all clinicians, driving health equity across the organization. As a Regional Medical Director in Primary Care, she oversees the fiscal and clinical outcomes of nine clinics. Active in the community, Dr. Yang collaborates with organizations such as the MDH Health Care Equity Task Force, Hmong Health Care Professionals Coalition, and the Coalition of Asian American Leaders. She focuses on providing health information, critical access to care, youth leadership development, and policy advocacy. She also serves on the University of Minnesota Medical School Alumni Board, supporting alumni engagement and development.

Mai See Lee is a Community Advancement Coordinator with the Community Clinical Outreach team at M Health Fairview. In her role, she supports various program initiatives aimed at improving health access and outcomes in the community, including community-based vaccination clinics, the Naloxone initiative to combat the opioid overdose crisis

Mai See Lee is a Community Advancement Coordinator with the Community Clinical Outreach team at M Health Fairview. In her role, she supports various program initiatives aimed at improving health access and outcomes in the community, including community-based vaccination clinics, the Naloxone initiative to combat the opioid overdose crisis, and the community dental fluoride program. She is also a core member of the Asian Heritage Network (AHN) Employee Resource Group at M Health Fairview, where she contributes to fostering inclusivity within the workplace. Beyond her professional commitments, Mai See is deeply involved in Minnesota's artistic community as an actress. Passionate about representation, she aspires to create and participate in stories that authentically capture the experiences of the Southeast Asian diaspora. Offstage and in her free time, she finds solace in writing and indulgence of her wanderlust through travel.

Nachia is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager at MNGI Digestive Health, where she champions and drives DEI initiatives. A founding member of MNGI’s DEI Committee, she works collaboratively with the Leadership Team and DEI Committee to foster a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. Nachia also leads comm

Nachia is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager at MNGI Digestive Health, where she champions and drives DEI initiatives. Nachia also leads community outreach and health equity efforts, oversees donated care programs such as Links to Care, and builds partnerships between MNGI and youth programs to inspire and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals. She is also an active member of the Cancer Health Equity Network (CHEN) and serves on the Masonic Cancer Center’s Community Impact Board. Nachia graduated from Hamline University with her Bachelor of Arts in Biology. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband and three children and loves a challenging puzzle.

Bao Chu Lee is a pre-med student preparing for medical school, with a strong interest in holistic, community-centered care. She brings a background in community organizing, where she has worked closely with communities to advance equity and build systems that are responsive to their needs. Bao currently works as an Emergency Room medical

She brings a background in community organizing, where she has worked closely with communities to advance equity and build systems that are responsive to their needs. Bao currently works as an Emergency Room medical scribe, gaining firsthand clinical experience, and also serves as an Office Coordinator for a local nonprofit, supporting internal operations and strengthening team systems. Outside of work, Bao can usually be found working with flowers and candles, writing poetry, or spending time with family and friends.

Mickey graduated from Lakeland College Wisconsin with her MBA, with certifications in Women’s Studies and Accountant Technician and undergrad in International Business. She has a history with local organizations such as Ready4K, helping launch the ongoing today, Hmong Early Childhood Coalition, MN Literacy Council as a English language tu

Mickey graduated from Lakeland College Wisconsin with her MBA, with certifications in Women’s Studies and Accountant Technician and undergrad in International Business. She has a history with local organizations such as Ready4K, helping launch the ongoing today, Hmong Early Childhood Coalition, MN Literacy Council as a English language tutor, Project Shine Lao Family English Center as an ESL tutor/mentor, Xiong United National Organization as the finance committee member (helping raise over $35k for the team); Hmong Arts & Crafts Fair as the Sponsorship committee member and a McKinsey’s Asian Leadership Academy Essentials graduate. Mickey is the Operations Consultant for American Heart/ASA. Mickey enjoys being out and about walking with her children, while playing Pokémon Go, trying new foods and traveling the world.

Maychy Vu is a trailblazing educator, systems‑builder, and community leader with more than 30 years of experience. She began her career as an elementary educator in St. Paul Public Schools. In 2000, she co‑founded HOPE Community Academy and became its first Executive Director. In this role, she established Minnesota’s first Hmong‑focused

In 2000, she co‑founded HOPE Community Academy and became its first Executive Director. In this role, she established Minnesota’s first Hmong‑focused public charter school, now a thriving preK–12 institution. Her leadership has strengthened pathways for students and families to embrace their heritage, pursue their potential, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Ma Xiong is the Vice President of Data Strategy and Analytics at MN Community Measurement, where she oversees analytics, quality measurement and reporting, and leads efforts to use data to improve health care quality, cost, and equity. She previously worked at the Minnesota Department of Human Services as an analyst and supervised the Beh

Ma Xiong is the Vice President of Data Strategy and Analytics at MN Community Measurement, where she oversees analytics, quality measurement and reporting, and leads efforts to use data to improve health care quality, cost, and equity. She previously worked at the Minnesota Department of Human Services as an analyst and supervised the Behavioral Health Division’s Research and Evaluation Team. She also co-chaired the DHS Asian Heritage Employee Resource Group. Ma holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Global Health from the University of Minnesota and a Human Services Leadership certificate from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

Alexander Mua has worked in the medical field for over a decade. He started as a Certified Nurse Aide, working with disabled adults with forensic backgrounds. Within a couple of years, he completed his education as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and began working in hospice and palliative care, specializing in pediatrics; this helped lay the

Alexander Mua has worked in the medical field for over a decade. He started as a Certified Nurse Aide, working with disabled adults with forensic backgrounds. Within a couple of years, he completed his education as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and began working in hospice and palliative care, specializing in pediatrics; this helped lay the foundation for his path to becoming a Registered Nurse with an associate’s degree in nursing. With his passion for higher education, he attended the University of San Francisco (USF) and earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Clinical Nurse Leadership. During his time at USF, he was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. He has been passionate about volunteerism and serving those in need. As a military spouse, he was stationed in Rome, Italy, at the beginning of Covid -19, providing aid to the local community and within the US Embassy clinic. He also served in Operation Allied Refuge during the Afghanistan crisis, where he provided intake and care in Naples, Italy, and Scotland.  Alexander continues to pursue higher academics to provide the best care for the underserved community. He is currently a student at Baylor University – Louise Harrington School of Nursing, where he is pursuing the Doctor of Nurse Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner program. His goal upon completion is to work in rural communities and provide humanitarian aid to the international community.
